What’s more, Google Ads provides another in-feed shopping tool with shopping campaigns. These ads are linked to your product catalog and display as shoppable photos.

 

Simply create your ad and specify the search phrases people can use to find it.

 

Thereafter, set your parameters, including your geographical area and an inventory number. Google can pull the ad once you’ve sold out of the product.  

 

Interactive content

Interactive content is another big digital marketing trend, with this type of content – including quizzes and polls – allowing you to talk to your followers in real-time.

 

Features such as Instagram Live and Facebook Live let people talk to you while you’re recording your video.

 

Retention rate as the new engagement rate

As the engagement rate on organic social media activity has experienced a decline, the retention rate has seen an upsurge in popularity.

 

With the audience being presented with more choice than ever before, there is even more emphasis on creating content that keeps users engaged for a sustained period.

 

Social media platforms such as TikTok are testing longer-form videos, of roughly 15 minutes in length, and focusing more on how brands not only engage their audiences but, crucially, retain viewers.

 

SMS marketing

Thanks to SMS marketing, you can directly connect with your audience through texts.

 

Its value lies in its ability to deliver marketing messages straight to the device that rarely leaves the hands of consumers—the mobile phone.

 

Common uses include promotions, coupons, and personalized messages. It is recommended that you keep these messages short and concise, allowing your customers to opt-out.

 

AI

Recently, there has been an explosion in new artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies – including chatbots, machine learning and voice search – which has had a profound impact on the digital marketing landscape.

 

AI enables marketers to automate tasks, personalize content, organize leads, or analyze and predict customer behavior.   

 

All of this results in increased productivity, as marketers can channel their focus and energy into the more creative and strategic tasks, rather than manually completing repetitive activities.

 

What’s more, it creates a way for people to search and be found online, communicate with brands and access information through voice search.
